I just purchased the All System MD802 scanner and would like to update it, however I am getting the error message "Update failed. Make sure your SD card is not full or write protected" The scanner is brand new, and the SD card if the one that comes with it. I checked the switch and it is unlocked.. whats going on?

I am trying to update to version V6.34, is this the most current version?

    Thanks, Tom

Hi, not sure of the SD card is full. Please format the SD card and reload all update. If there is still problem, please change another SD card (8G or 16G) to check the result. Thanks!

The unit is brand new. The SD card is the original SD card the unit came with. The SD card is a 8GB San Disk.

I tried to reformat, says disk is write protected.

Something tells me that this car may be faulty, or my reader may be faulty.

Hi, possibly the problem should be with the SD card. Please change another SD card to check the result. Thanks!

Corrupt sd cards are common with new units. If you're using Windows than go into Windows explorer and right click on the sd cards drive image. Go to properties at the bottom of the context menu that pops up. Then when the window open there will be a tools tab with the top item being an option to scan for and correct bad sectors. Do that and it should fix the problem. What you describe was exactly what happened to me when I bought my device.
